On your mark, get set… GOBBLE! It's time again for our annual Turkeys for the Triangle fundraiser to feed our neighbors in need this holiday season.
Working with pre-selected area non-profit and military organizations, Turkeys for the Triangle is committed to donating over 5,000 frozen turkeys to feed more than 20,000 people this Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Started by our Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston Founder and Chairman, Don Walston over 15 years ago, Turkeys for the Triangle has donated more than 40,000 turkeys to anchor holiday meals for more than 175,000 food-insecure people.
"It breaks my heart to know that there are families in our local communities who struggle to put food on the table, especially during the holidays when so many of us are celebrating with special meals," said Walston. "Turkeys for the Triangle is our answer to that sad reality; it is a way our company, our clients, and our kind neighbors can give to the greater good, to feed those in need."
Now through Tuesday, December 17th, our real estate agents and staff will sell Turkeys for the Triangle raffle tickets to gather funds to support our holiday turkey donations in mid-November and mid-December.

Our 2017 Turkeys for the Triangle program donated a record-breaking 4,500 turkeys to feed more than 25,000 people this holiday season thanks to the generosity of our Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston real estate team and Butterball, LLC.
From service members at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base and Camp Lejeune to neighbors in need in our local communities supported by nonprofits like Raleigh Rescue Mission and the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina, our Turkeys for the Triangle birds served to anchor holidays meals and bring cheer in trying times.
We "tossed" out our second and final turkey donation with help from the U.S. Veterans Corps and our kind agents and staff earlier this week and capped off the annual outreach effort today with our exciting raffle drawing at Johnson Lexus of Raleigh.
"I'll tell you what, it's one of those things," said Don Walston, company founder and chairman, as he spoke about the outreach effort. "It's hard to describe the benefit when you see someone who really appreciates what you're doing for them– it's a– I don't know how to describe it, but it's a warm feeling."
Walston began Turkeys for the Triangle nearly 15 years ago after hearing a radio story about a turkey donation effort the "Godfather of Soul" James Brown began in his hometown of Augusta, Ga. "As I rode along listening to the radio, I got to thinking—if James Brown can giveaway 1,000 turkeys, well then, we could too. As we've gotten into this, we've learned that a number of people don't get to have turkey at Thanksgiving and Christmas and it's truly shocking. Our goal is to grow this program to give away 10,000 or 15,000 turkeys each year."
To date, Coldwell Banker Howard Perry Walston's Turkeys for the Triangle program has donated over 30,000 turkeys to feed more than 150,000 people during the holidays.
Our Turkeys for the Triangle program would not be possible without support from a number of local organizations and people.
We've had the tremendous privilege of partnering with Garner-based Butterball, LLC to expand our turkey donations for the past four years. A dedicated program partner, the charitable company donated 1,500 of its sizable Butterball brand birds to Turkeys for the Triangle this year as part of its annual Thanksgiving outreach efforts. "Addressing the needs of the communities where our employees live and work is part of our core values of giving, and through our participation in Turkeys for the Triangle, we are able to serve families in need in the area we call home," said Kerry Doughty, company president and CEO.
Johnson Lexus of Raleigh is another long-standing Turkeys for the Triangle partner we value greatly. Year-after-year, Johnson Lexus of Raleigh has offered up a valuable one-year lease on a new Lexus sedan as the grand prize for our Turkeys for the Triangle. This extraordinary prize is always a crowd favorite!
And, last, but never least, we must pay tribute to our Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston real estate agents and staff, especially annual top ticket salesman Tim McBrayer. We cannot fully express the gratitude we hold for every one of you. Your support of Turkeys for the Triangle is outstanding.
Wondering who won the one-year lease on a new 2018 Lexus? Benjamin Passwaters is your man! He will soon get behind the wheel of a new Lexus sedan courtesy of our Turkeys for the Triangle partner Johnson Lexus of Raleigh.

Are you out and about chasing down the best Black Friday deals in town? Scoring holiday gifts for your loved ones and friends (and yourself) will be a fantastic feat, but imagine the joy finding your new home will bring.
You may have heard that spring and summer are the time to buy, but there are many reasons you should consider house hunting during the cold winter months.
It's common for buyer-competition to thin out in the winter as many people prefer to house hunt during the warmer seasons when the school year is waning.
Winter home sellers are often more motivated to close a deal than those selling during the peak season. They may be relocating for a job promotion, hoping to get a sale squared away before the new year, or simply ready to get their real estate journey underway.
Winter weather can tax a home. From the roof and gutters to the HVAC, plumbing and drafty doors, cold temperatures may reveal issues that you would otherwise have overlooked in warmer months.
Let our Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston real estate agents help you find the home you seek. Our listings agents will be happy to host you at their open houses this Saturday and Sunday.

This holiday season, Turkeys for the Triangle will donate 4,000 frozen birds to pre-selected nonprofits and active military and veterans organizations to distribute as needed.

'Cue, chicken, and charity! We're excited to share that Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston recently raised more than $23,800 for the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center as part of our Pig Out For the Cure fundraiser and commitment to Helping People Win.
"Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston and its team members are true friends of UNC Lineberger, and their support makes it possible for us to provide the people of North Carolina with the best cancer care today, and to conduct the research that will lead to even better treatments," said Martin Baucom, UNC Lineberger's senior executive director of development & communications.
Organized by our Chapel Hill and Pittsboro offices, our real estate sales associates sought out sponsors and sold barbecue plates to raise the money for the UNC Lineberger's Patient and Family Resource Center. The donation will bring our Pig Out For the Cure program's total contribution to UNC Lineberger to nearly $75,000 since 2010.
"We're very grateful to the many businesses and generous people who supported our Pig Out For The Cure fundraiser," said Randy Cox, sales manager and broker-in-charge of our Chapel Hill and Pittsboro offices. "Our team prepped and handed out more than 700 barbeque plates and had a great time doing it. We're proud that our effort will help to advance UNC Lineberger's mission to support those facing cancer."
