10 Coffee Shops in the Triangle to Start Your Day

Coffee Shops in the Triangle

If you're like many people, you probably can't start your day off without that first cup of coffee. It's a pleasant ritual that makes your commute, that morning meeting, or an extra-long to-do list so much more bearable. If you want to stop for a cup on your way out in the morning, meet a friend for a mid-morning coffee break, or pick up a cup while you're on your way to meet one of our real estate agents, try one of these coffee shops in the triangle to start your day off right.

Durham

  • Bean Traders, 105 W NC 54 Hwy #249, Durham
Durham homes for sale have access to some of the most unique and trendy dining options around, and Bean Traders is no exception. With ample room to sit and enjoy your coffee and meal options, you'll want to spend as much time there as possible. The iced coffee is always a hit with customers, but there are plenty of truly unique beverages here (Chocolate Habanero, anyone?).

  • Joe Van Gogh, 1104 Broad St. B, Durham
With 5 locations in the Triangle Joe Van Gogh coffee is available wherever your adventures might take you. Their coffee is roasted on premises so it's always fresh and delicious. You can even enjoy some local art while you sip.

  • Kaffeinate, 115A N Duke St., Durham
Located in the historical Brightleaf district the vibe at Kaffeinate is a mix of old and new. Kaffeinate calls themselves "North Carolina's most innovative café" and they are always looking to compliment the area's growing food scene by creating something unique with different techniques and high-quality ingredients. Pastries and waffles are available with gluten-free and vegan options too.

Chapel Hill

  • Bread & Butter, 503 W Rosemary St., Chapel Hill
Near the restaurant district in Chapel Hill, Bread & Butter serves up traditional coffee drinks made with beans from local roaster Counter Culture. And there's just about any kind of pastry you might want to go with your coffee. Try a seasonal bread for something different.

  • Coco Bean Coffee Shop, 1114 Environ Way, Chapel Hill
Coco Bean Coffee Shop focuses on eco-friendly, locally sourced ingredients and locally roasted beans. There's rental space for your next morning meeting or special event. They help make the world a better place by donating 10% of their profits to charity too.

  • Caffé Driade, 1215 E Franklin St., Ste. A, Chapel Hill
Located right off UNC campus and set back off the street, the atmosphere at Caffe Driade is a relaxing oasis. The outside seating area is the perfect place to connect with nature while enjoying your morning brew or taking a break while looking at Chapel Hill homes for sale.

Raleigh

  • BREW Coffee Bar, 111 Seaboard Ave., Ste. 116, Raleigh
Located at Seaboard Station near Peace College campus, Brew Coffee Bar is a unique experience. Raleigh coffee company is their primary roaster, but they work with a different guest roaster every month, so you can always try something new. Don't miss their signature drink, nitro cold brew coffee. It's made in-house, comes from a keg, and is charged with nitrogen before it's dispensed through a tap.

  • Jubala, 8450 Honeycutt Rd 104, Raleigh / 2100 Hillsborough Street 100, Raleigh
The folks at Jubala Coffee are committed to giving their customers the highest quality experience by providing handcrafted coffee, freshly prepared one cup at a time. The perfect place for a weekend breakfast or a quick cup to start your workday, Jubala weighs, grinds, and brews their beans from their roaster, Counter Culture Coffee, to ensure the coffee's natural tasting components are brought out.

  • Liquid State, 1908 Hillsborough St., Raleigh
Near NC State campus, Liquid State offers a menu of coffee, tea, beer, and small estate wines. Single origin beans are from local roasters Carrboro Coffee. Many of the baked goods and light bites come from local companies as well and there are several vegan and gluten-free options available.

  • Sola Coffee Café, 7705 Lead Mine Rd., Raleigh
At Sola Coffee Café, the goal is to bring people together and enhance the community. Locally roasted coffee can accompany your breakfast, lunch or dinner. The fresh warm mini donuts are a must have to start your day off right. If you'd rather skip the pastries, the Artisan toast bar and omelets provide a variety of flavor options to start your morning. While you're shopping for Raleigh Hill homes for sale, stop by and check out the twice-monthly pop-up market.

5 Local Cary Photographers for a Family Photo

Cary Professional Family Photographers
Your family keeps evolving right before your eyes.  Your oldest is a senior in high school, and the youngest is starting kindergarten. Where has the time gone? Now is the perfect time to document some of these memories. Whether you're looking for a documentary photo session or formal family portraits, our real estate agents can recommend their favorite five family photographers in Cary, NC.

Family Photos Make a Wonderful Gift

  1. Laura Ann Photography - 107 Ivy Tree Place, Cary, NC 27519
Laura Ann Photography offers documentary photography sessions to families in the Triangle area. She provides a variety of sessions, starting with an unscripted Storytelling session, following the family and capturing everyday laughter and moments. Regular appointments begin at $300 but can be expanded into day-in-the-life sessions, which last either four or eight hours and start at $450. She also features a Fresh 48 session, which tells the story of the first 48 hours of a new baby's life right at the hospital and is a new thing for families.

  2. 627 Photography Cary, NC 27519
627 Photography is located in Cary, NC and focuses on portrait photography for the Triangle area. Founder Amy Hill uses lifestyle portraits and specializes in high school seniors and modern family photos. The 627 Photography team wants this experience to be fun and stress-free and believes it's our job to make you look even more beautiful.

  3. My Friend Teresa Studios - 200 S Academy St. #210, Cary, NC 27519
The husband and wife team of Justin and Teresa at My Friend Teresa Studios work together to capture the essence of your family. They offer individualized attention, where they'll offer suggestions on clothing or designs ahead of time. They love to use some of the hidden gems in the Triangle area for beautiful scenery, but since these are popular in the Spring and Fall, you'll need to book early. Their stylized video fusion session is popular because it includes unscripted behind the scenes moments of your kids joking around along with the portraits.

  4. Jennifer LaGrange Photography - Cary, NC 27519
Jennifer LaGrange began as a "mom" photographer and then wanted to share her passion with others. She specializes in family photos and loves doing candid photos and first birthday parties, complete with the smash cake. She also does session portraits and aims to find a way to make each family member so that they're all smiling naturally.

  5. Formont Photography - 1904 Pinetuck Ct, Cary, NC 27519
The Formonth Photography team is experienced in working with children of all ages during family portraits. They often bring a bucket of props to help bring extra smiles or distract the younger ones. They are more than willing than go beyond the designated one or two-hour slot if it means getting your child to smile and have fun.

Shopping for Cary homes for sale will allow you to have a beautiful backdrop for your photos, both inside a new living area or a landscaped yard or nearby park.  Are you ready to learn even more about what the city of Cary can offer your family? HPW Luxury | 404 N Churton Street

Few things compare to the feel and aura of a historical home.  The Turner-Strudwick House located at 404 N. Churton Street is steeped in history and is currently listed by Meighan Carmichael our Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston Hillsborough office.

As you walk up to the home, peonies and irises adorn the original cobblestone walkway and you are automatically taken back in time. Upon entering the house through the red double doors, you can't miss the heart pine floors and twin parlors off of the foyer.  Details abound the home including eight fireplaces, each of which were built with their own unique mantel. This historical home has one very unique feature that cements the era in which it was built. In those bedrooms with fireplaces, there are two closets, one on each side of the fireplace, a very quaint feature to this home.

Built in 1833 by Josiah Turner, this 4,500+ square foot masterpiece sits on over an acre in Historic Downtown Hillsborough.  In 1889 Edmund Strudwick decided he wanted to reorient the house to face Churton Street. During this process, he enlarged the home adding the twin parlors, two upstairs bedrooms and an additional wing.  This new wing also included a porch which brought the total number of porches to three. Something that was practically unheard of at that time.

In 1922, Sheriff L.B. Lloyd bought the Turner-Strudwick House where it has remained in the family for several generations. The owners are now ready to share the next chapter in its storied history.

To see this house in all its splendor, sign up for the Hillsborough Candle Light Tour which will take place on Sunday, December 16th.  From 1 to 7 p.m. guests will be able to see the first floor of the home and from 7 to 9 p.m. a full open house will be held following the candlelight tour. For more details on this home and how you can enjoy a tour of this historic landmark in the heart of Hillsborough, contact Meighan Carmichael.
